#42 Evidence Supporting Evolution

1. Ancient organism remains. Darwin found remains such as fossils, bones, insects in amber, petrified wood and bones of the ancient giant sloth.
2. Fossil Layers. Fossils that formed in sedimentary rock. Darwin noticed that fossils in the bottom layer are different than organisms today.
3. Similarities among living organisms. Similar organisms have differences that help them adapt to the environment. Bodies such as horses and zebras are similar.
4. Similarities of embryos. This shows that animals are similar and develop similarly. This implies that they are related and gradually evolve different traits.
5. Similarities in DNA. The genetic makeup of some animals is the same.
6. Breeding. Animals reproduce to keep organisms around.
The photo above shows developing embryos.
